Jeremiah 10: 2-4
“Thus saith Jehovah, learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.”
Jeremiah was concerned with how corrupt this world had become. They used their imagination to bring new ways of deception and new idols. They celebrate a Christian holiday as the day baby Jesus was born, and they call it a day to give presents to the children and family. The people have distorted the holiday by giving them, with the help of Satan, names like Santa Claus and other fictitious names.
First, the saints of God do not celebrate such a day. We celebrate Jesus’ birth because He came into this world to bring us salvation. God the father sent Jesus to give His life for us and carry our sins to the cross and to wash our sins away.
John 3:16
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
We were loved so much that even though we were sinners, He gave us that opportunity to accept Him and loved us eternally. All we have to do is humble ourselves on Him and accept and believe that what He did on the cross was done for all of us. All we have to do is ask for forgiveness and obey His word. And through Him, He will bless you, and when the time comes, He will take us home to glory!
I Thessalonians 4:14-15
“For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”
